Artificial lakes will be created in Tashkent to improve air quality
To eliminate the inversion phenomenon and improve air quality in Tashkent, artificial lakes and water reservoirs will be established. This is stipulated in the Presidential decree on urgent measures aimed at improving the ecological situation in the capital.

To ensure microclimate stability that positively affects atmospheric air quality, at least three artificial lakes and water bodies will be created in four directions of the capital (east, west, north, and south).

According to the decree, the Tashkent city administration, together with the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, will double the number of fountains in the city using funds from the State Target Fund for Eliminating Nationwide Environmental Problems.

Additionally, the Tashkent city administration, jointly with the Ecology Committee, the Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, and the Uzbekistan Neighborhoods Association, will organize a “Shaded Walking Street” by selecting in each district three streets with low greenery levels, each with a minimum length of 5 km.
